Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,
Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, …
(Psalm 107:1-2, NKJV)
People who have been rescued from deadly danger are relatively few. Therefore, the depth of thankfulness felt and expressed by the rescued is rare. People who are pulled out of burning buildings by a firefighter appreciate firefighters in a way not many others can. People who have their lives spared by a heart surgeon, deeply and sincerely appreciate the surgeon’s preparation and training. People who are pulled from the death grip of dangerous waters by a lifeguard can appreciate strong swimming skills in a way not many others can appreciate the skills. The rescued can’t say enough good things about their rescuers.
Isn’t it time for Christians to begin and to never end a lifetime of say so about our Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Christians should praise the Lord Jesus Christ for rescuing them from life’s greatest enemy, death. Christians have been rescued from a death severe enough to be defined as eternal separation from God’s goodness. The greatest witness one could give, is simply to let the redeemed of the Lord say so.
